2012 Master Builders Excellence in Construction – Certificate of Merit- Best Industrial Building
The Viridian Glass Processing and Distribution Centre is a purpose built factory constructed for CSR Viridian on behalf of Jandakot Airport Holdings at the Jandakot Airport Industrial Precinct. The facility consists of a 12600m2 factory, 700m2 office, 600m2 maintenance workshop and over 10,000m2 of hard standing and carparking.
PS Structures were responsible for the complete design and construction of the project which was completed on time within 12 months.
The client brief requested a very high tolerance concrete factory floor with minimal joints. During the design process, PS Structures and their team proposed the use of fibre reinforced concrete for the factory floor slab in lieu of a conventional concrete placement method. The fibre reinforced concrete was placed using a Somero Laser Screen, PS Structures was able to achieve 27m x 26m joint-less concrete floor sections to the factory. This resulted in a very high tolerance floor, which made for a very satisfied client.
PS Structures liaised very closely with the system engineers from Viridian Glass to ensure all equipment was accommodated from both a services and structural point of view. This included gas and electrical powered furnaces, argon gas units, a water treatment plant, in-factory drainage systems and five overhead gantry cranes.
“Excellent professional approach consistently maintained from all members of the PS Structures team.”
