Hello Fresh Build Site 512 – Jandakot
The Hello Fresh Project was a design and construct of a 15000m2 warehouse which consists of
12000m2 refrigeration space, 3000m2 ambient storage
with racking, a two-storey office (800m2), an extensive concrete hardstand area with loading docks and a large car park. Additionally, the project required the construction of centralised fire pumps and tanks to be utilised in servicing future developments neighbouring the new build.
The refrigeration spaces were split to various zones with different temperatures using a PIR panel installation, in conjunction with a variety of rapid roller and shuttermax doors. The loading docks open directly into the chilled inbound space, to receive produce. Two blast freezers
(-30o C) were constructed within the freezer space.
The refrigeration system was a low charge ammonia refrigeration plant to service high stage loads, recirculating Food Grade Propylene Glycol for all rooms above 0o C, along with a sub-critical CO2 rack system to service freezer rooms with Co2 DX evaporators, and evaporative condensers for heat rejection. The design is a highly efficient configuration boasting low power consumption, with collection of performances of 3.9 for high stage and 5.5 for low stage.
A 450kW solar system was installed, which is integrated through the BMS, to reduce power consumption.
PS Structures was requested to engage and manage the
fit-out contractors to ensure a seamless handover at the completion of base build. This achievement allowed the tenant to move in and be operational soon after Practical Completion.
