Burswood Entertainment Complex The Astral Ballrooms

The refurbishment of the Astral Ballrooms was  constructed on time within a period of 12 weeks.

Early contractor participation, during the inception of the project, aided in the design, budget, time and buildability process.

The demolition works involved the removal of finishes, ceilings, services and various structural elements from the existing Plaza Ballroom.

The structural works included the construction of a new catwalk for the services above  the chandeliers.  The various structural beams provided support to the lighting bars and lifting equipment. All these works occurred above the ceiling.

Extensive works were undertaken in the ceiling void to include for fire sprinklers, 15 chandeliers and associated winches, lighting bars, large mechanical ducting and equipment, catwalks and structural elements.

The finishes included timber, stone clad walls, Onyx stone lighting boxes, custom designed carpets and fabric wall panelling.

Extensive construction management, teamwork, flexibility and communication coupled with experienced, resourceful subcontractors and a pro-active design team were the keys to the timely completion of this high profile project.
