The refurbishment of the pool at Burswood was a complex project involving the extension and remodeling of the main hotel pool.  A number of new pools were added including a selected VVIP pool area.  The VVIP enclosure comes complete with custom made cabanas to ensure that guests enjoy a luxurious but private experience with all the comforts of their living room, in an outdoor setting.

A demanding programme was only achieved with the complete co-operation from all stakeholders.  The client, designers and trades formed a composite team in overcoming the obstacles of a fast track programme.  The pool was opened to the public on 1 January 2012.

One of the challenges in the construction of the project was the ground conditions.  The hotel has been built on an old landfill site where ground settlement is still occurring.  All the structures required specialist foundations which were also required for all the pool services resulting careful planning at the design stage.

Extensive landscaping formed a key part of the scheme and a new paving slab was developed that incorporated the use of Western Australian gemstones.  PS Structures through efficient project management ensured Burswood received another blue chip development.
